Your Data, Your Control: Bharosa Neuro Psychiatry Hospitals respects your right to privacy and data control. This policy explains how you can request deletion of your account and personal data from the Bharosa Hospitals app.
1. Your Right to Data Deletion
You have the right to request deletion of your personal data and account from the Bharosa Hospitals app at any time. We are committed to honoring these requests in accordance with applicable data protection laws and our commitment to your privacy.
2. What Data Will Be Deleted
Upon receiving and processing a valid deletion request, we will delete:
- Account Information: Your phone number, email address, and profile details
- Chat History: Anonymous chat and AI chat conversation history
- Consultation Records: Voice and video consultation metadata and records
- Payment History: Transaction records stored in our system (Razorpay maintains separate records per their policy)
- App Usage Data: Preferences, settings, and usage analytics linked to your account
- Communication Records: Support tickets and feedback associated with your account
3. What Data May Be Retained
Certain data may be retained even after account deletion for legal, medical, or legitimate business purposes:
- Legal Requirements: Data required to be retained under Indian law, including medical record retention requirements
- Medical Records: Consultation records may be retained as per healthcare regulations (typically 3-7 years depending on jurisdiction)
- Financial Records: Transaction records required for tax and accounting purposes
- Fraud Prevention: Information necessary to prevent fraud or abuse
- Ongoing Disputes: Data related to unresolved complaints or legal matters
- Anonymized Data: Aggregated, anonymized data that cannot be linked to you
Any retained data will be securely stored and used only for the specific purposes stated above.
4. How to Request Data Deletion
You can request deletion of your data through any of the following methods:
4.1 In-App Deletion (Recommended)
The easiest way to delete your account is through the App:
- Open the Bharosa Hospitals app
- Go to Settings (gear icon)
- Select "Account Settings"
- Tap "Delete My Account"
- Confirm your decision when prompted
- Your account will be scheduled for deletion
4.2 Email Request
You can send a data deletion request via email:
- Email: contact@bharosahospitals.app
- Subject line: "Data Deletion Request"
- Include: Your registered phone number and/or email address for verification
4.3 Contact Form
You can also submit a deletion request through our Contact Page by selecting "Data Deletion Request" as the subject.
5. Verification Process
To protect your privacy and prevent unauthorized deletion, we may need to verify your identity before processing your request. This may include:
- Sending an OTP to your registered phone number via Twilio
- Confirming your registered email address
- Asking you to verify through the App (if you still have access)
- Requesting additional identifying information that matches our records
6. Deletion Timeline
Processing Time: We will process your deletion request within 30 days of receiving a verified request.
The deletion process follows this timeline:
- Day 1-3: Request received and identity verification initiated
- Day 3-7: Identity verification completed
- Day 7-14: Account deactivated, data deletion process begins
- Day 14-30: Data permanently deleted from active systems
- Up to 90 days: Data removed from backup systems
You will receive email confirmation at each stage of the process.
7. Third-Party Data
Please note that some data may have been shared with our third-party service providers:
- Twilio: Phone numbers used for OTP authentication - governed by Twilio's Privacy Policy
- Agora: Call metadata from voice/video consultations - governed by Agora's Privacy Policy
- Razorpay: Payment transaction records - governed by Razorpay's Privacy Policy
- OpenAI: AI chat conversations - governed by OpenAI's Privacy Policy
You may need to contact these providers directly for data held in their systems. We will make reasonable efforts to assist with coordinating deletion requests.
8. Effects of Account Deletion
Once your account is deleted:
- You will no longer be able to access the App with your credentials
- Your consultation history will be permanently removed
- Any scheduled appointments will be cancelled
- You will not be able to recover your account or data
- Any unused credits or pending refunds will be forfeited (please contact support before deletion if applicable)
If you wish to use the App again in the future, you will need to create a new account.
9. Withdrawal of Deletion Request
If you change your mind after submitting a deletion request, you may withdraw it within 7 days by contacting us at contact@bharosahospitals.app. After the 7-day window, the deletion process cannot be reversed.
